Intraceuticals kicked off the holiday season with its festive Hawaii themed Christmas party.

The Hawaiian theme was embraced by all; grass skirts and coconut bra’s featuring alongside frangipani shirts. Palm trees, an abundance of fresh tropical fruits, faux sand and seafloor backdrops set the cultured mood and proved a lot of fun!

It was great to welcome Collen Chan (Regional Director - Asia & Middle East), and Ron Pirolo (General Manager) and Desi Sulistyowati (Senior Account Manager) from PT. Kurongkor Medika our Distributor in Indonesia. Ron brought Desi along as a thank you for her hard work and dedication to Intraceuticals - it was wonderful for the Australian and Indonesian teams to bond.

All revelled in the musical stylings of the wonderful live band, enjoying delicious food, festive punch and Hawaiian favourite cocktails, all creating a great atmosphere to be enjoyed alongside great company.

It was a fantastic opportunity to conclude another successful year, to relax and unwind, catch up with associates and friends and celebrate the beginning of the holidays!

New York makeup artist and current editor of Women’s surf and style magazine Roxanne (Roxy) Saffaie’s passion for beauty and fashion and exceptional talent has seen her career flourish in recent years. Roxy has worked with the likes of photographers Steven Klein and Miles Aldridge and Hollywood red carpet star’s Leighton Meester and Michelle Rodriguez. Saffaie’s set to send US standards soaring- here’s why she uses Intraceuticals!

How did you find out about Intraceuticals?

I was first introduced to Intraceuticals by my good friend Gina Brooke. Gina is an incredible makeup artist and her makeup shows it; after seeing the effects of her use with Intraceuticals on her clients' skin I was hooked! In 2008 while working on the American Idol concert tour, Gina connected me to the brand and it has become a staple in my work ever since - Thanks Gina! :)

As a makeup artist - how do you incorporate Intraceuticals into your finished work?

The same way I would never approach a canvas before I start painting is the same way I approach my client's skin before I start applying makeup. Intraceuticals is the FIRST step I use when I approach my clients' faces. From the oxygen skin treatments to the layering moisture products that follow; the skin is left totally rejuvenated and prepped perfectly for my makeup application. I think my favourite part about the system with Intraceuticals is that as the hours go by, their skin and makeup noticeably continues to look better and better.

What is the most interesting or memorable experience that you had with Intraceuticals?

One of the best experiences I've had with Intraceuticals was when I was giving my friend and amazing singer/songwriter Sia Furler an oxygen skin treatment right before one of her performances. The treatments are very relaxing so it was the perfect treat for her right before jumping on stage in front of hundreds of people to perform. It was a moment of giving back to someone who's talent I have admired for years before we met, so that was a really nice moment for me.

As sales activities continue in the Asian market for Intraceuticals, Collen Chan (Regional Director - Asia and Middle East) and Patricia Steel (Intraceuticals Training Manager) supported the region's growth and momentum by touring to visit Intraceuticals distributors in Indonesia and India.

Official launch of Intraceuticals in India

Patricia Steel and Collen Chan met with Mumbai-based distributor Medihauxe International to announce the official launch of Intraceuticals in India.

The new partnership with Medihauxe International, the sole distributor of Intraceuticals in India, has meant a greater expansion and brand presence for Intraceuticals in the region, as well as access to the fast growing Indian wellness services market.

The group embarked on an exciting 8-day PR event across New Delhi and Mumbai. Media interviews and demonstrations were interspersed with Collen and Pat meeting with local celebrities keen to Discover the Hollywood Secret. All were delighted with the instant, visible results and the positive response from guests who attended the demonstration.

Following a vast amount of news and media releases after the event, Intraceuticals' Asia team and Medihauxe International are working to serve the uprising demand in India.

By 2013, Intraceuticals expects to have a presence in up to 50 locations in India's top 10 cities, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Karachi.

Intraceuticals' Growth in Indonesia Continues

With the commitment of our distributor in developing Intraceuticals' presence in Indonesia, Patricia Steel and Collen Chan are becoming frequent visitors of resorts in Bali and big cities, Jakarta and Surabaya. Here the team assists resorts and spas in leveraging on opportunities to perform more Intraceuticals Infusions, generating greater awareness for the brand.

Pat spent a week with the team in Jakarta to sharpen their skills and meet with some challenging customers. Meanwhile, Collen traveled to Bali with Emmy, the distributor's Sales Manager and worked with Hard Rock management to try to close the first HRH deal in Asia. We then turned to Surabaya to support our loyal Customer, The FOY Clinic to run an open day promotion, which was a huge success.

Indonesia ranks fourth amongst the most populated countries in the world. While not a wealthy country, the region's distributor is demonstrating great success for Intraceuticals through their initiatives and commitment towards our brand.

Intraceuticals exhibited at Australia's largest spa and beauty event - Sydney International Spa and Beauty Expo on the 13th and 14th of August.

The significant event featured 350 beauty brands, 14 top spa and beauty experts, 3 international makeup artists, daily catwalk shows along with the Nail Competition and Makeup Awards.

With around 10,000 visits to the expo including owners, managers and decision makers from spas and resorts across Australia, Intraceuticals was in a prime position to demonstrate our 'Hollywood Secret', Intraceuticals Infusions!

Not only were people lining up to experience the infusions, we also received a vast amount of interest in our retail range and in the benefits of becoming an Intraceuticals Partner.

Slow Down Time

Here at Intraceuticals Head Office we are all feeling 2011 disappearing before our eyes (our fresh, hydrated, line free, beautifully contoured eyes).

An interesting video on TED has inspired us to slow down time by trying something new for 30 days.

What will you try?

Around our office we will be:
- swimming 30 minutes a day
- doing 100 sit-ups a day (ok, maybe the first day will only get to 10)
- spending 15 minutes a day learning Chinese (Mandarin)
- practising Yoga poses every morning
- stop eating supper (around midnight) and eat breakfast instead

Remember it is Winter in Australia, so we are all worried about the approaching bikini season.

A new country added to the Intraceuticals portfolio

From July 1, 2011 onwards, Intraceuticals Infusions and products will be available in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka lies in South East Asia and has a population of 20 million.
After serious consideration, we appointed Skin Lab to be the first location in Sri Lanka to serve the customers of Intraceuticals. In April, Mrs Nadira Abayakoon, Director of Skin Lab travelled to Bangkok and had her first experience of Intraceuticals Infusions at Isawan Spa of Grand Hyatt Erawan; she was highly impressed by the treatment results.

Skin Lab will convert 4 treatment rooms in their salon to provide Intraceuticals Infusions. They are expecting to develop the Intraceuticals service beyond their own salon in 2012.

Intraceuticals CEO visits Malaysia to ignite new promotion concept

On June 23 – 24, CEO Anthony McMahon met with the Deacon Medical team (Intraceuticals Distributor for Malaysia and Singapore) in Kuala Lumpur.
Currently we are serving 70 locations in both countries, including Grand Hyatt Singapore, DRX Clinic and CN Beauty chain. The CEO’s visit to Malaysia occurs at an opportune time to work with the restructured Deacon sales team. We also met with the new owner of Unisense, a renowned slimming chain in Malaysia, to discuss a tighter cooperation between the two organisations.

On the 29th of March, 2011, an open day promotion was held with a focus on expatriate ladies in Jakarta, 11 of whom were from EXXON. Intraceuticals Training Manager, Patricia steel was there to support the promotion with a Presentation, Live Demonstration and finished with a Cocktail Party. Impressive results were seen, with a 90% success rate of attendees signing up for an Infusion Course after the promotion. After the great success of this promotion day, the Spa is repeating the promotion with the same model targeting guests from CONOCO, another oil and gas company in Jakarta.

India

November has been a busy month for Intraceuticals. Michelle Peck (company advocate) has been in India with Priya Chatwal, owner of the Kitsch boutiques and launching the Intraceuticals brand into India. Exciting connections have been made with some of India's hottest Bollywood Goddesses, and we look forward to a fantastic relationship developing not only with Bollywood, but all of India.

Priya opened a new store in Mumbai on November 13, with Intraceuticals introducing our Infusions to the Indian Press, and designer Elise Overland held a trunk show of her newest collection.

New additions to the Intraceuticals Family

November has been a busy month for Intraceuticals across the globe. James Stringer has been appointed National Sales Manager of the UK. James has a strong background in International Sales and Training and we know the UK will flourish under his command.

Congratulations to Suzanne Bree and her partner Tony who have given birth to a healthy baby boy on Saturday. Suzi may well be the most dedicated staff member, naming her son Jake Anthony! We are claiming Anthony is in honour of Intraceuticals CEO Anthony McMahon, and trying to overlook the fact that Tony is short for Anthony. Suzi has been a valued member of the Australian Sales Team for 3 years, and will be returning after her maternity leave.

Aranka Renner is warmly welcomed to the Australian Sales Team, currently replacing Suzi, and moving into the Resort market when Suzi returns from maternity leave.

Collen Chan is the Asia Regional Director of Intraceuticals and he has now been promoted to also look after the emerging Intraceuticals market of the Middle East. Congratulations on your new posting Collen.

Pixar - Toy Story 3 - Juvenile Diabetes Fundraiser

On May 22 Pixar held a fundraising even for Juvenile Diabetes Research, with a Gala Preview of Toy Story 3, at a black tie dinner event including a live and silent auction, preview screening of the film and rare tour of Pixar studios. Metrowear Icon Fashion Show

Intraceuticals was featured in Manila at the Metrowear Icon Fashion Show - the Young Designers Guild, and Fashion & Design Council of the Philippines presented their creations at the 15th METROWEAR in NBC Tent, Taguig City.

"Metrowear wants to push the best of Philippine fashion and has always supported young designers. It's a great privilege for the designers to be featured in the show," said Raul Manzano, editor-in-chief of Metro Society magazine.

Beauty Matters (Moree) recently joined the Intraceuticals family in May. This Day Spa is like an oasis in the heart of North West NSW – an area more renowned for agriculture and its therapeutic hot water springs. An area also renowned for a dry, tough climate.

Moree - Population 10,000.

25 Intraceuticals Rejuvenate Course Packs (and two days) later, and the image of Moree as a forgotten outpost has been completely eradicated from this writer’s preconception filled mind. Instead, what has replaced it is an image of a bustling cosmopolitan community teeming with” look good, feel good kinda people”.

In just two weeks our partner has transformed the residents of Moree into Intraceuticals devotees, while at the same time doubling her initial investment...not bad for a town of 10,000 people.

Did someone say 25 course packs? Sure did and that was just at the promo event. The success is continuing with more ongoing sales.

Well done to Maureen (our Gold Coast Account Manager) who guided the successful promo and well done to the staff and management at Beauty Matters who got behind and supported the event.

In other news...

A new appointment in West Australia was made two weeks ago. Beth Wolozny has come from a background of training and management and we are all expecting that market to be back on track in a very short time. At least Beth knows where to find a decent coffee in Perth. Thank you!!

As I work in Communications and Marketing for Intraceuticals, a lot of internal information crosses my path... This one is too exciting to keep to myself. Official invites will be sent out next week, but here's a little heads up!

In 2009 we held a conference for our Asian Distributors. While we pride ourselves on the quality of our distributors and their expertise in their markets, its great to connect with people from other areas. It was a fantastic event, giving everyone a chance to meet in person, share ideas, and show everyone we view them all as an integral part of the Intraceuticals family.

From this, I can tell you the whispers are true, and this year we are holding:

Intraceuticals 2010 International Distributor Conference

This will be for all our Distributors across the globe, set in the picturesque city of Sanya. Sanya is in Southern China, a 1.5 hour flight from Hong Kong, and known to the locals as 'the Chinese Hawaii'. It is on the same latitude as Hawaii boasting beautiful beaches, and perfect weather year round! While the business side of the conference is important the nights will be filled with relaxing dinners, enjoying our surroundings.

To all our accounts, you may be thinking this is just an excuse to party in a beautiful part of the world, but it is a lot more than that. Each Distributor will be asked to give a presentation on their market, learning from each other, with Q&A and idea sharing encouraged. The conference also provides the distributors with a platform to share their ideas with the management team at Intraceuticals.

Hot off the press is the announcement of a new addition to the Intraceuticals family – weighing in at 3.3kgs and 51cms young Leonina Amanda Graham Souza arrived last week in a haze of lights and other stuff.

She has already been recruited and Anthony is busy designing a baby pack which will allow the proud mother (one Stacey Graham) to carry and feed the young recruit while performing her normal duties – such as demos, customer visits etc. I am sure that a 19year induction should prepare young Leonina for a major role within the company.

Seriously however, I am sure everyone would join me in wishing Stacey the very best in her new motherhood role and we look forward to her return on a casual basis later in the year. Stacey has been an integral part of our team with consistent performances over the last three years. Her association with Intraceuticals however goes back almost nine years as she was one of our first customers in NSW.

Stacey’s replacement, Samantha McDonald, has just completed her induction and is eager to get out and make her mark. Samantha has a strong sales background and I am sure she will fill the rather big shoes Stacey has left behind.

Congratulations to Salma for a fantastic effort on her recent trip to Asia (Singapore and Malaysia). Our customers and end users were impressed not only with her knowledge and training but also her enthusiasm and love of our products and treatments.

In addition to training and helping others learn, Salma had the opportunity to observe other markets and bring ideas back which can ultimately help our business in Australia and New Zealand, especially in sectors where we are looking at significant growth over the next 12 months.

A short recap on the hyaluronic story so far……

Hyaluronic acid is not new to the skin care industry. In its natural form the molecules are large and sit on the surface of the skin minimising its effectiveness. What Intraceuticals discovered is that by incorporating varying molecular weights of hyaluronic acid we are able to truly maximise its amazing benefits within the skin as well as topically. This realisation formed the basis of what Intraceuticals now call hyaluronic layering.

Here is a snapshot of the different layers:

Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid –

small molecules, fast and easily absorbed – deeply hydrates the skin – is present in all professional infusion serums and retail gel products.

High Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid –

draws moisture from the air – binds moisture to the upper layers of the skin – present in all retail creams.

Hyaluronic Polymer – longer lasting form that works on the surface to seal in hydration and maintain the Infusion result – present in all creams.

April 15-19 was the annual Cosmoprof Trade Show in Bologna, Italy. Intraceuticals exhibited here, with Intraceuticals distributor Enermedica helping with treatments and translations. While the show was on in the midst of the Icelandic volcano sharing it’s ash with the entire European air space the turnout was fantastic with attendance up 4.8% on 2009.

Due to the volcanic ash the Australia and American staff from Intraceuticals were stuck in Italy for the following week. I can think of far worse places to be stranded! It was quite a good thing as most of our management are complete workaholics, so it is our opinion a forced holiday in Italy could be just what they needed!

Step One - Low molecular weight hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid has been used in skin care for decades and originally its molecular weight was quite large so it would sit on the surface of the skin unable to penetrate, thus limiting its ability to work as an effective skin hydrator. Interestingly over the past 9 years Intraceuticals has identified that by incorporating varyied weights of hyaluronic acid we are able to truly maximise its amazing benefits within the skin as well as topically. This realization formed the basis of what Intraceuticals now call hyaluronic layering.

Our research lead us to a supplier who was continuously improving the production of Hyaluronic acid through fermentation of lactic bacteria and a renewable plant source. The Intraceuticals low molecular weight hyaluronic acid is derived from natural and renewable materials only. Plant-derived substrates are used in the process, such as wheat or beetroot.

This specific molecular weight enables easy absorption to the epidermis in order to balance hydration and to increase skin firmness. This improves cell cohesion and the barrier function of the skin. Moreover, thanks to the high humectant ability of the hyaluronic acid, it maintains hydration in the skin through a “water reservoir” function in the dermis.

An Intraceuticals Infusion intensifies the action of low molecular weight (LMW) hyaluronic acid as it is delivered to the lower level of the skin. In addition to its anti ageing benefits, LMW Hyaluronic acid also acts as a delivery system – carrying other beneficial ingredients to the skin to benefit a wide spectrum of skin conditions including; dry, dehydrated and prematurely ageing skin, sensitive skin, fine lines and wrinkles and problem prone conditions.

The weekend was all about the girls, with a 3 day ski and snowboarding competition, broken up by lifestyle activities including massages, yoga, concerts and dancing. The Viceroy Snowmass was one of the main sponsors, hosting the girls and holding an event completely dedicated to relaxation Friday and Saturday afternoons. Intraceuticals Infusions, 'The most luxurious facial ever' (W Magazine), were offered to all competitors.
